Andrew started his life in the art world as a student at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, specialising mainly in ceramics. He decided that he wanted a stronger theoretical basis for his creative energy and to explore his interest in South Asia. He took up a place at Cambridge to read ‘Oriental Studies’ as it was still known then. He proceeded to study Arabic, Hindi and Persian and made several extended trips to different parts of the Middle East and South Asia.

In 2010 Andrew joined Christie’s Islamic Art department and over a period of six years catalogued and researched an extensive range of artworks ranging from Islamic Spain to Indonesia. Andrew was subsequently recruited by a well-established London gallery to handle their Islamic and Indian art with a particular focus on manuscripts and works on paper. Andrew authored two catalogues for the gallery before parting ways and setting up AeR Gallery together with Romain in 2018.

Andrew has a passion for languages, most recently he has decided to attempt Georgian! .
